Born in Naples in 1950, where he still resides and works today, Mario Smeraglia is an artist renowned for his surrealistic style, rich in detail, as well as his vivid colors.
A lover of landscapes and the sea, his most important works immortalize the most beautiful Italian cities,seascapes and floral compositions.
Initiated into painting at an early age, he then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown where he perfected his painting techniques, giving his style the technicality that makes him, today, a well-known and sought-after artist.
Committed to the perpetual search for new expressive values, Mario Smeraglia prefers the mix of oil and acrylic and ranges experimenting with new techniques and materials, such as plaster and stucco becoming, thus, often polymateric.
